The Gospel of the Four ISBN: 9781858453439

From the Publisher

This is a considerable well researched work and scholarly presentation of New Testament scholarship. It presents the texts of the four Gospels in an unostentatious format and style, successively relating together all four texts of the Gospels, with explanations to many of the so-called erroneous inconsistencies that some even devoted Christians point out. It is a complete synchronization of the Synoptic Gospels with the Gospel of John, which takes account of all the relevant arguments relating to this particular subject. This work will surely aid scholars and layman in their quest in seeking for complementary knowledge, and will undoubtedly help many to find new truth.

Synopsis

It also demonstrates how all four Gospels parallel each other intrinsically without the anomalies frequently mentioned by many believers. The author carefully identifies and distinguishes differences and similarities in the four narrative accounts of the life and ministry of Jesus. He also provides passages in quotation and chapter, and verse references revealing the fact that Jesus made several different visits to towns in Galilee and Judea, purged the Temple on two occasions, and gave the Sermon on the Mount more than once. An examination of the timing and nature of the miracles also offers fresh insight into this aspect of Jesus' ministry. This New Testament work is intended to stimulate Christian scholars and laymen in their search for additional truth. The mass of detail and cross-referencing should not deter the general Christian reader because the author has taken great care to present his argument and postulations in a coherent and accessible manner.

5 out of 5 starsExcellent scholarly work for all serious Gospel students, April 21, 2004
Reviewer: Christine F Payne BA (Hons), from Greenford, Middlesex, United Kingdom

This book saves such a lot of time; instead of finding one Gospel reference and then thumbing through one's Bible searching for the same quote in another gospel, in this book, they are all grouped enabling the student to make detailed comparisons. I take it everywhere with me instead of my King James. Coupled with scholarly observations and not without some new controversy, this reference work provides inspirational and thought provoking reading. Mr. Jones is to be congratulated on a great achievement!

5 out of 5 stars"The Gospel of the Four" inspired me to refer to other friends, October 18, 2006

Reviewer: Ernie Martin from Las Vegas, Nevada, USA

I am already thrilled reading the Gospel of Four. Not only that, I purchased another book and had it shipped directly to my friend and his wife as a gift. The author also agreed to autograph the book. Now my friend is going to return my book and I'll continue reading it. I'm excited about reading the parables and Jones the author is very clear in expressing the meanings of it.
